Leeds United face Reading on Tuesday evening and while Marcelo Bielsa has already announced that his squad will contain the same 18 players, that may change in the coming weeks as one man edges closer to a return to action.
What’s the story then?
United have received a boost this week as according to Adam Pope, Eddie Nketiah has returned to first-team training after missing a number of weeks with an abdominal injury picked up before the Whites’ game against QPR.
Having a striker who has been averaging a goal every 88.3 minutes in the Championship this term back in action will certainly be a positive for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but it may also push another of their players to maintain his current high levels.

Bamford’s drive
With Patrick Bamford rediscovering his goalscoring touch during Nketiah’s absence, the Arsenal loanee’s return could spur him on to continue this rich vein of form.
The former Boro man has netted in each of his last two gamesÂand with Phil Hay confirming last week that Nketiah would have had a run of starts if it weren’t for his injury Bamford will know that he has to continue playing to that level if he wants to keep his spot in the team.
Healthy competition is a brilliant thing to have within a squad, and if Nketiah can push the 26-year-old to be the best he can be then United could benefit from his goalscoring run continuing.
Bamford has already shown himself to be a form player, scoring four in his first five games of the campaign. He then went on that unfortunate ten-game run where he failed to find the back of the net but he’s now back in form and beginning to get in better areas.
That was evident in the role he played for Leeds’ winner against the Hatters.
Away from Bamford and Nketiah, Leeds have been looking at a Premier League striker…
