The Sun reports that Chelsea's players will receive a bonus if they beat Real Betis next week and win the Conference League for the first time. But as Palmer was deliberately kept out of the competition's group stages, he is in line to earn less off the back of his five games. Filip Jorgensen, for example, has made 13 appearances, so he will earn more as the bonus scheme relates to matches played.

The report adds that if Chelsea qualify for next season's Champions League, their pay packets will be 'considerably more full'. But with many earning thousands upon thousands a week, that may not make much of a difference to them financially. The bigger prize is winning the Conference League and qualifying for the Europa League.
