After weeks and weeks of conflicting reports, it seems as if we can finally put any doubt about Eddie Nketiah’s Leeds United future to bed.

One of the most notorious journalists when it comes to transfers wrote a story last weekend stating that Arsenal have no plans on recalling the 20-year-old once the January transfer window rolls around.
Due to the previous uncertainty around Nketiah’s future, there have been plenty of reports that claim Leeds were looking for a replacement striker with both Cenk Tosun and Rhian Brewster’s names floated around recently by Phil Hay.
However, just because Nketiah is supposedly staying that doesn’t mean that Leeds shouldn’t still be in the market for a striker.
Patrick Bamford blows hot and cold, and while he may be in good form as of late it doesn’t take away from the fact he went ten league games without a goal earlier in the season.
Nketiah seemingly isn’t trusted to start at the moment, and he’s had a little drought of his own as he’s netted just once in his last eight appearances.
Despite being ten points clear of third place, United are still off the pace in terms of goals scored. They’ve scored ten fewer than West Brom. If they signed a top-class striker who can step in when Bamford hits another of his dry spells, they will be able to strengthen their current title credentials.
This latest transfer development doesn’t change the fact that Leeds could still do with bolstering their frontline, and it also shouldn’t waste the diligence that Victor Orta and co have been doing on other striking options.
In other news, Leeds fans have been raving over one youngster.
