Leeds United have been handed a major blow in their push for promotion after manager Garry Monk confirmed young full-back Tyler Denton is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.The 21-year-old left-back has undergone knee surgery following an injury sustained in training, with Monk stating he’ll be out for ‘a number of weeks’- whilstÂYorkshire Evening PostÂreporter Phil Hay specified the youngster will be out for a total of six weeks.
After making the step-up from the academy to the first-team this season, making a total of three appearances, and has pushed fellow left-backs Charlie Taylor andÂGaetano Berardi for regular opportunities.
Leeds will now be without the young prodigy for a crucial stage of their season, as they sit 4th in the Championship, with Denton set to miss games with the likes of Birmingham, Fulham, QPR, Brighton and Reading.
