Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has confirmed he has knocked back numerous advances for the club, as quoted by talkSPORT.
What’s the word?
After numerous years of struggles under the leadership of Massimo Cellino, Andrea Radrizzani has arrived at Elland Road to provide Leeds with stability and the make-up to finally earn a return to the Premier League after Marcelo Bielsa’s appointment in the summer.
The Peacocks are flying high under the Argentine boss, who took charge of a side who disappointed last season after finishing 13th. While there is still work to be done, the wave of optimism around Elland Road has significantly improved.
Purchasing the club in May 2017, Radrizzani has committed to a five-year plan to bring Leeds back into the top-flight but, in quotes published by talkSPORT, has confirmed that interest in the club is regular and he has rejected numerous offers.
What was said?
“I’ve been approached by many parties in the last few months. I see already the value is probably more than double than what I invested but the upside potentially is really high because in my opinion this is one of the top, probably, eight brands in UK.”
What does this mean?
There is two key takeaways from Radrizzani’s comments and both are extremely positive, with the first being that rejecting numerous offers, despite earning an increase on the fee he paid a year-and-a-half ago, proves that he is determined to see out his objectives at Leeds.

The second, and one that is crucial for the long-term, is that the value of Leeds has increased during his leadership. Long regarded as a sleeping giant within English football, Radrizzani’s investment has sparked the fire beneath Elland Road.
That value will only increase further if Leeds seal a return to the Premier League and it means that the club should remain stable beyond Radrizzani’s five-year plan, something that the Yorkshire club have not really seen since their relegation almost 15 years ago.
