As reported by The Scottish Sun, Sheffield Wednesday are one of the teams interested in capitalising on Wes Foderingham’s unsure future at Rangers.
What’s the story?
With Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor reported to be on the verge of the move to Ibrox, the long-term future of the current Rangers number one is in doubt, alerting clubs south of the border that a capable shot-stopper could be coming onto the market.
One of those teams is Sheffield Wednesday, say The Scottish Sun, who also report that Nottingham Forest are monitoring his situation.
Rated at £630,000 by Transfermarkt, should the Owls make a move for him this summer?
Would he be a worthwhile signign?
With Keiren Westwood, Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson already at the club, it makes little sense for the Owls to be looking at goalkeepers when the summer transfer window opens.
Dawson, previously thought to be number three choice at the club, proved just this weekend that he is progressing well at 22 years old with an excellent performance against Wolves, demonstrating the depth Wednesday have in the position.
Foderingham is capable of fantastic saves on his day, but his all-round game is sometimes frustrating for Rangers fans and he’s unlikely to be an improvement at Hillsborough.
This is a transfer that they should look to avoid.
