The Gunners’ ability to capitalise on set-pieces has been a defining feature of the team in the 2024-25 season. Since the start of the last campaign, the club have scored 22 goals from set-pieces, the most in the Premier League. Last week, in a crucial encounter against Manchester United, Arsenal emerged triumphant as they scored from two corner kicks.

Much of Arsenal's prowess from set-pieces is credited to the club's set-piece coach Nicolas Jover and to recognise his contribution, a mural of the Germany-born coach appeared near Emirates Stadium ahead of the club's Champions League fixture against AS Monaco on Wednesday.
Rival fans, however, mocked the gesture as an X handle named wrote, "Small club mentality."
Dominic King wrote, "A mural for a set piece coach. Let’s say that again: a mural for a set piece coach. Oh my."
A fan with the handle KJLFC87, mocked the Gunners, calling them the new 'Stoke' as the post read: "Celebrating being the new Stoke."
A fan named John Gibbons compared Arsenal to Manchester City, saying, "This is worse than when City fans did a banner for a lawyer."
A handle named STUNNA wrote, "WHYYY? It's almost like we care more about these types of stuff than winning trophies."

After the United clash, former Red Devils star Dimitar Berbatov compared the Gunners to the Stoke City side managed by Tony Pulis. Under Pulis, between 2006 and 2013, Stoke earned a reputation for being set-piece specialists, with Rory Delap's long throws being a signature weapon.
